Brendan’s first blizzard

All afternoon Friday the weather people were promising snow and by the hour the amounts were changing always increasing. At around 9 p.m. we heard 17-20 inches and thought the weather people were absolutely nuts but were hopeful! 10:30 is when the snow started to fall and it was so beautiful, Devin went to sleep I stayed up wrapping presents and watching a Christmas movie (Christmas vacation) by the time I went to bed the storm was offiically declared a blizzard with predictions of up to 2 feet of snow.

This morning we awoke to a winter wonderland and it was beautiful. The kind of stuff that no matter what side of the bed you woke up on you are in a good mood. Brendan was stationed at the back door for a good part of the morning watching the snow and Cherokee playing out back. Then Brendan and I decided to surprise Devin with some chocolate chip cookies. When Devin got home from work we bundled Brendan up in a couple layers; pajamas, jeans, shirt, jacket and boots. Then we headed out in the snow to snap some pictures, took Brendan for a quick ride in his sled and then we went driving around in our Jeep. Devin wanted me to get acquainted with the 4-wheel drive in case I ever have to use it. 🙂

Our neighbor said ” It’s funny when your first big snowstorm is bigger then you.” lol  so true!
