September 9, 2008 – Day 91
Posted 1 day ago
Today Brendan had his bi-weekly weigh in with his pediatrician. 6 pounds 7 ounces…can you believe it!?! He is going to be a really chunky monkey in no time. Today we also discusses his reflux issues and his medication. So we are going to switch him from Zantac to Prevacid and see if that helps lessen his spit up. Other then that she is very happy with his progress and we go back to see her in 2 weeks.
New pictures added to his snapfish album.
Happy 3 months birthday Brendan!
September 10, 2008 – Day 92

Brendan had a nice boring and lazy day today. He needed to recover from his night last night. He wasn’t feeling to well and wouldn’t sleep in his crib. Luckily he would sleep on me.. which is always welcomed. Tomorrow we start him on Prevacid hopefully it will be a smooth transition.

Brendan had a pretty good day today. He is back to sleeping through the night in his crib. Today we started him on Prevacid 15mg 2 times a day. We have to crush it up add a bit of water load it into a syringe and shoot it in his mouth. So far it seems to be helping a lot… he only spit up once all day today. Today we also bought Brendan a new sleep positioner that has an elevated head portion to see if that helps him at all. it says it hlps with digestion so we shall see.

Well it seems the Prevacid is helping. Not a great deal but there is a noteable difference in the amount of spit up. I think this change in medication is also what is upsetting Brendan’s tummy so hopefully in a couple days it will straighten itself out. Otherwise Brendan had a great night last night sleeping for 7 hours. He had an uneventful day of eating and getting to know his surroundings. A great thing is he is now awake the majority of the day. It is amazing to see how much he changes from day to day and the progress he is making.
I wanted to let everyone know that I will only be updating this page until the 100 day mark. Brendan has made tremendous progress. I am however keeping a blog so if you would like the link to it please post here and I will share it. The blog will be updated once a week, but the great thing about a blog is I can put pictures right in the entry. 🙂 Please don’t feel obligated to check out the blog. And we appreciate all your support and well wishes over the past couple of months.

Today Brendan had a visit from his home care nurse Cindy. He is now up to 6 pounds 10.5 ounces. She was showing me some things about him that maybe because I see him everyday wouldn’t notice. For instance how his skin is getting thicker. She used his head as the example to show me how you can’t see his veins nearly as much as you could. I knew his face had filled out a good bit but had missed the vein part.
Today was also the day we made the switch to newborn size clothing. Brendan is now officially too long to fit into his preemie sleepers and onesies. He is growing up so fast but it’s such a great thing.
New pictures added to snapfish.

Well today Brendan had a great day and again slept for 7 hours. He is still having some tummy issues, which I do believe are because of the switch in medication. He was really showing us today just how strong he is by “climbing” on Devin and I like we are a jungle gym. He also managed to wiggle his way off of his Boppy pillow and a couple inches across the floor. We are in trouble, haha!
September 15, 2008 – Day 97

Brendan is a lucky fella today because his Aunt Beth came to visit. She also came armed with gifts from her and Aunt Geri. Devin, Beth, Brendan and I all headed in to Annapolis for dinner. Brendans first time to downtown Annapolis. Today we also heard from the pediatricians office in regards to Brendans spit up issues. They were asking for more details, are going to do some research and hopefully figure out a solution and if it really is a reflux issue or something else going on.
Happy 14 week birthday!
